Pub n Sub. What could I possibly say about Pub n Sub that hasn't already been said?
Pub n Sub is great on game day, great on graduation, great for hangovers, great for post-finals beers, great for pre-finals beers, and is even great for no real occasion at all.
I've been twice recently and each time, they've been consistent. The pizzas are nice and big, their wings are tasty, and their fries rock too. I would happily give this place 5 stars if they sold liquor, but for now I'm just happy that they serve White Claws. -

We came on a Sunday afternoon. Still avoiding the place at 1661 North Virginia Street since the arrogant new manager was kind enough to un-invite me and my group of friends after 15 years of patronage. Don't offer a narcissist bully constructive criticism, they are unable to accept it.
Back to Pub-N-Sub, our order included one French Dip, one Smokey Melt. a dozen wings and a 2 topping pizza. Everyone agreed that the food was good but not over the top good. The pizza crust was amazing. The service was good. The place is clean enough. The prices are reasonable.
There are so many places in this area that can be a sports bar by day and a college party spot and "in-crowd" hang out. This place seems to be working that out in a good way. -

This is the quintessential area "in-spot".
Neighborhood families enjoy the great food and drink by day while the local college students have created a popular PLP, by night.
I'm told this place has literally been an institution since 1974. That speaks volumes. I think I'd best described it as simplicity. Nothing fancy, just great wings, pizza and simple subs. Subs like the "po 'boy" or "hero" sandwiches we made with cold cuts in the kitchen, years ago. Some of the food items might seem a bit pricey, but there's value for the buck. The beer prices seem reasonable.
The pub attracts a colorful caliber of people ultimately giving the place it's special character. We split a Hickory Smoked Turkey sub for about $10 and these fantastic Zucchini sticks for $8.
From pool tables to outdoor tables in their beer garden Pub N' Sub is back-woods cozy in residential Reno. A comfortable venue to watch sports or just kick back and unwind. Be careful if you park by the entrance...it's a bottom scrapper. -

For what it is, pub n sub hits every line on my "neighborhood pub and late night food" checklist! I recommend the garlic chicken pizza which is AMAZING! Darren the bartender is super nice! Also, 2$ mimosa Wednesday's for the ladies!! Yes please!

We love the pizza here. We get a large with pepperoni, sausage, and bell peppers and a side of fries to eat while we wait. The place is usually packed on Friday night and for good reason - half off dine in pizza deal. We love the beer garden out back - nice grassy and typically shaded (in the evening) area where the kids can play. The staff is friendly. The pizza is fantastic - greasy, loaded with toppings, and difficult to eat because it falls apart. I only give 4 stars instead of 5 simply because of the wait times we often experience. Tonight's wait was extra long but it seemed as though they were possibly short staffed. Everyone was still super friendly we just waited for our food a bit longer than we can typically manage to wait with a hungry 1 year old and a 3 year old.
